Here is a short list of a few of the hundreds of examples of the media intentionally manipulating the public to support Israel’s recent offensive against Palestinians
July 24, 2014

Please reblog or message with additions as you see/think of them and I will edit with the additions. I am sure we can create quite a large list of examples.
image There’s also this instance in the Washington Post where the headline is worded in such a way that one might think that the 330 deaths are Israeli, not Palestinian, and caused by Hamas and not Israel. Also, in the majority of news stories (not all, but many), the word “killed” is used when the victim is Israeli, and “dead” when the victim is Palestinian. It’s like they’re trying to give the impression that no blame can be assigned for a Palestinian death because they weren’t “killed,” they are just “dead” somehow…

Wow yep, great example. And disgusting! Also, even if it were crystal clear that the 330 killed were Palestinian, why is the headline still that 2 invading soldiers were killed rather than the hundreds of civilians? So infuriating!

" it’s just a joke, relax! "

" you’re all overreacting! "

this is someone’s fucking daughter.

if you think anything about this is ok because it’s ” just a joke ” you’re a seriously disgusting individual.

twitter normalizing pedophilia

thats a child….. she literally look 5

This is the most disgusting thing i seen in a while she look 5 how can u be attracted to and/or joke about doin bad things with her. How is this funny.

Not even 5. Try 3 or 4 y’all. THIS IS A BABY. This is not funny in any way. This is pedophilia. This little girl probably can’t even spell her name and she is being exploited for twitter “jokes”. THIS IS FUCKING SICK. If you’re active on twitter, please report this shit if you see it. This is unacceptable.

besides her being someone’s daughter, she is simply someone; a human being who should be respected.

Her name is Taylor Townsend. She’s from Chicago and is only 18 years old. She is a professional tennis player currently playing in the second round of the French Open, one of the four Grand Slams. Not only is tennis a white dominated sport, but it’s a sport that considers it’s average players to be petite and slim.”Last year, the United States Tennis Association wanted to keep her out of the tournament (the junior US Open) because it believed her physical conditioning was lacking, even though she was the top-ranked junior girl in the world. She entered the tournament anyway and reached the quarterfinals.” Taylor is proving them all wrong, and is on the road to win the second round of her first French Open!

One of the most durable paradoxes of white supremacy - the idea that those who are closest to an experience of oppression are its least credible witnesses.

This is the type of violence—from microaggressions to epistemic violence to emotional/physical violence to enslavement/genocide—that gets justified by asserting that the oppressor is “objective” and “logical” and thereby “credible.” As if there is objectivity in choosing to oppress. As if the emotions of entitlement, indifference, greed or hatred aren’t involved.

I was driving past a business here in the Houston Heights, when I glimpsed this painted on the side of the building. I recognized that iconic WWII poster before I realized it was not just any woman, but 14 year old Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl who was attacked for wanting an education. The words next to her are her quote, ( “I don’t mind if I have to sit on the floor at school.) All I want is education. And I’m afraid of no one.”

This is gorgeous.
